This book is one of the strangest paranormal books I have ever read. Yes, I did just say that. Yes, you need to buy it.

At summer's end, mysterious white pickup trucks take to the roads and compel nearly everyone to "drive off." Some of those who remain gather in a suburban Atlanta subdivision, and struggle to cope with a world whose infrastructure is rapidly crumbling. One of the few who are mentally and emotionally prepared for the end of the world is Cody Sifko, a youth who quickly becomes the inspiration for the others. When a strange homeless woman names him "Father of Nations," is she seeing his future or her own delusions? As winter and a hate group try to destroy Laurel Hills, can Cody overcome personal tragedy and seize his destiny?

A magical sigil half-blood, Cadi collects the ingredients for her brother Torvi’s healing spells while he sells remedies for arthritis and minor ailments in their store.

But not all sigils are harmless. Running afoul of three badly wounded Nychos, Cadi is forced to procure for them in exchange for her brother’s life. But they want a lot more than human hair to work the spells keeping them alive. They want her to kill . . . and Cadi has no choice.

Insomnia, the flavor of the week. Is it raining, is it snowing? Is a hurricane a blowing?

Tomorrow starts the most wonderful time of year, 2015 Halloween Reads Season! But I couldn't help but stopping in today, and talking about how seriously screwed up in the head I am. I mean, seriously, there is no other explanation.

I have really wicked insomnia. I am pretty sure it settled into my bones early, at the ripe old age of nine or ten. Sometimes I just can't sleep. I'll be tired. I might even stagger like I'm drunk, if dare put down the book I'm reading and climb out of bed. Sometimes I'm not tired at all, and I find myself at the end five AM before winding down with no place to go.

But worst, worst of all, is when I wake up,

And wake up,

And wake up.

Last night was no exception. Last night was the worst yet. Sometimes I wake up every hour, or two. Last night I woke up in roughly 47 minute increments--and while that, in itself, wasn't so strange, w hat I was doing when I woke up was.

I was singing, but not just any song. I was waking myself up singing this:

There's no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There's no knowing where we're rowing
Or which way the river's flowing

Is it raining, is it snowing
Is a hurricane a-blowing

Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of Hell a-glowing
Is the grisly reaper mowing

Yes, the danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing
And they're certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing

It was so strange. If you had asked me that day I'd have told you I couldn't recall more than a handful of these words, but there I was, singing them. Clearly, I am not well.

Activate Full Time Author Mode!

At the begining of the year, I stumbled into a job in social media. I LOVE social media, and I am good at it which is how I got the job. Things were lollipops and roses for the the first few months, and then road blocks started getting in my way. Four foot tall speed-bumps like the fact they no longer wanted to use my skills, and instead wanted to turn me into a spambot. Which hurt my soul. So when they started on again about something I thought we had settled months before, it went about like this:

The fact is, I am not going to be recording That Thing You Do in Spanish. We broke up over creative differences.

It was a good month for it too. I had just gotten a gold record....I mean I had best sales month since 2011. But more on that later.

Coincidence? 50 Shades Sequel Has a Midnight Sun Moment, or a Dynamite Publicity Stunt. (Probably Both)

When I first read this article about the 50 Shades Sequel, Grey, being stolen one week before launch I thought, "Yeah... right." With an eyeroll and everything. Why pay for that kind of publicity when you can get it for nothing? Scandal, is worth it's weight in gold, and since scandal can crush you on social media, it must weigh an awful lot.

Still, the more I thought about this (just to get a laugh because I used to do marketing) the more it began to bother me. For those of you living under rocks, 50 Shades of Grey was originally a Twilight Fanfiction. Here is where things go from chuckle worthy to sad. Stephenie Meyer originally was working on a Twilight Sequel called Midnight Sun, that was Twilight from Edwards point of view. EL James' new book is 50 Shades from Christian's POV. The reason Meyer stopped working on Midnight Sun was because someone hacked her computer, stole it, and put it on the internet. So it is beyond cute that James' story that follows the same layout as Meyer's has almost the exact same thing happen.

EXCEPT!

The story wasn't stolen when it would be useless to publishers. It was stolen when they needed some pre-launch publicity. Coincidence? Is it just me? Discuss.

The Second PATH OF ANGELS Book is Out!

Time is passing faster than I can catch. Minutes, Hours, Days, all gone like the morning dew on spiderwebs at noon. But faster. I totally slept through last Monday when this book came out!

If you missed it, here is the first Path of Angels Book: MICHAEL.

Now about the second book Zadekiel:

Blurb:
The path is lost.

With Michael gone, the mantle of leadership falls to Zadekiel. In this time of darkness, with tempers running short, Zade struggles to guide his brothers. Hope comes in the form of a green haired woman with a unique gift. She represents a way back to the path they lost when Michael disappeared.

Zephyr fills books with cryptic poetry, a powerful compulsion, which is more a curse than a blessing. With no control over her ability, she struggles to live a normal life. When she meets Zade, he insists her ability is a gift from God. Reluctantly, she agrees to join the cause–it’s hard to dispute a man with wings.

Now the path is found, but one question remains. Will it lead to further darkness?

Shortest Horror Stories, EVER.

I'm going to write you a horror story, it's called Monday.

So I've been meaning to blog more, except, I always want to do it at four in the morning. Closer to sunrise than bedtime. It's an awkward hour for me. I can read, I can write, but I can't promise I'll remember to spell my own name or use basic punctuation.

It's horror-able.

Seriously, I also make bad jokes after midnight.

Which maybe explains, this; List of the Shortest Horror Stories EVER.
By, me: Angela Kulig

10. We're out of bread.
9. SNAKE!

8. Do you hear that sound?
7. The battery in my Kindle is dead.
6. I'm sure it's safe.
5. What's that sound?
4. I know what I'm doing.
3. What could possible go wrong?
                                     2. SPIDER!
                                     1. MONDAY.

P.S.
Yes... I did decide to change my blog design at two in the morning.

Spring for it... before it's too late!

Pigments of My Imagination, which until last week when Skeleton Lake passed it (again), was my best selling novel, is about to become Amazon exclusive. Not forever, just for three months starting next week. So if you want to get it on Kobo, or Nook, you better get it before the end of Sunday 3/8!'

Pigments of My Imagination has a 4.2 Star Rating on Amazon. Check out some of the reviews.

Pigments of my Imagination by Angela Kulig is a surrealistic coming-of-age novel centered on the exploits of Lucia, a new student at the Bayside Art Academy in East Texas. Wandering the halls of her new place of learning, she discovers a unique and mysterious group of prodigies who hold an irresistible attraction for her. Making the acquaintance of Ripley, she is introduced to Leo, a wunderkind who she feels particularly fascinated by. A sense of déjà vu makes her feel as if they had met somewhere before, setting the conflict into motion in Kulig’s romantic novel.

The theme of reincarnation resonates throughout the plot as Leo and Ripley bring the subject up in conversation, theorizing about how a group of ‘enlightened individuals’ might predict the rebirth of one of their kind. It sets up an epiphany for Lucia as it anticipates her discovery that her arrival at the Academy and her friendship is no mere coincidence. The element of kinship is also integral to the author’s tale as Lucia finds herself amidst a rivalry between the Painters and the Deceivers, as the enigmatic Mr. Garcia watches and waits to see how Lucia’s choices and allegiances will affect her life journey.

Kulig’s narrative is an interesting blend of literary concepts, including adolescent bonding and the rite of passage which is flavored by the supernatural manipulations and intrigue. Characters such as William Blake and Oliver Buchanan give us a blend of the old and new, the world of classicism merging with the metaphysical in an entertaining storyline. Pigments of my Imagination by Angela Kulig is one definitely worth checking out.

 ***

I received the book and within a day and a half I had it read. I was so into Lucia and Leo, I could almost really feel their energy. I feel almost a little bad for reading it so fast because I did ignore my son...........but in my defense he was ignoring me while playing on his Leappad :-) Either way, amazing story line and I can not WAIT until the next book is released! So think this should be a movie series.........

 ***

"Pigments of My Imagination" isn't your average novel with an obvious plot and a straightforward concept, rather it is a refreshingly original story with fluid storytelling that sucks you in and takes you on a compelling ride filled with twists and turns. Angela Kulig does a wonderful job of engaging the reader with a vivid writing style that really does paint each scene with a fine-tipped brush; it's sharp, lush, descriptive, emotional, non-linear and fantastically addictive. Lucia's story (and life) is unusual and captivating in it's complexity, as she tries to unravel the mysteries surround her life and the school she attends. Ms. Kulig has a gift for storytelling that just charms and entertains the reader, creating a sharply woven tale that jumps from emotional drama with action-packed science fiction to introspective fantasy and more. Overall, this was a vivid and wholly original novel that was well worth the read; I would recommend it to anyone looking for a compelling and well-written science fiction/fantasy novel to sink their teeth into.

And keep this in mind...

Blurb

There is only one path.
Born mortal along with his three brothers, Michael is an Archangel with a specific role: hunt fallen angels and send them back to Hell. He is determined in his mission, never straying from his appointed path, until he meets Lake Divine, and discovers there may be more to his beliefs than blind duty.
But Lake is not who he seems. Offspring of a human and a fallen angel, a Nephilim, Lake must choose his own destiny: give in to the coldness and embrace the dark, or seek the light and rise above the sins of his father.
Two paths lay before them, but only one has the potential to destroy them both.

It's Tuesday, comment to Win!

It's Tuesday.

I am sure you are wondering why I am pointing it out. It's because I am always talking about Monday. Monday is this, Monday is that, oh, no, it's pre-Monday.

On Twitter, I am infamous for my personal beef with the start of the work-week. Now I am trying to change that. Monday is a product of my imagination. It's never as bad as I make it out to be, It's not bigger or more terrible than any other day, it doesn't have longer teeth, or spikes, or bad breath. Monday is twenty four hours, the same as any other day.

So, it's Tuesday. Monday did not maim me, or maul me, or even leave me in the dust. Somehow, the world carried on; and I want to know:

HOW WAS YOUR MONDAY?

I don't get enough credit...

Spoiler Alert! Writers aren't well. How could they be? Everything they live for revolves around making up things in their head. People, places, whole worlds that don't really exist and made to seem real when it's quite obvious they aren't. Writers even invent relationships with fictional people.

Which is usually enough to get you committed. These themes appear in a couple of my books that are coming out this year, but I don't want to talk about fiction. I want to talk about me.

I really think I don't get enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.

Sane people don't write about skeletons. They don't write about exposed bones, or broken people with broken hearts but I do. I do, because I have a fondness for flawed people. Because I am a flawed person. Psychology plays a huge role in many of my works; not because I'm manic depressive or something, and off my meds, but because both writers and readers are obsessed with what makes people tick. Some people call that motivation. I call it, a character's diagnoses.

I'm mad, you're mad, they're all mad.

Just so we're clear.

Anyway, I told you that to tell you this. Next weekend (Jan 16ish) I'm heading out of town but I am going to leave the people on my newsletter a present first.

You remember this book? There was some drama with it. Because see, it's about writers. One of which  was very similar to a character a friend of mine wrote in one of her books...also about witters. Except for how they aren't actually alike, just some of their things are alike. I have chickened out on releasing it like four times now becausebecause of a lot of things.

The plan is, I am going to send the people on my newsletter the first 1/3 or so of the book. It has a fantastic ending for that partand you can tell me if you want to read the rest of it. Don't worry, there is still plenty of time to sign up.

Recently, my newsletter has grown and I have been wanting to find a way to reward those people I refer to as, "The In Crowd". I have huge plans for the list, after this. Such as: sharing exclusive short stories, and serializing a book I don't have time to release yet but is AWESOME. Special giveaways, of course, are a must. As well as other, opportunities.  If you are already on the list, you don't have anything to worry about! Otherwise, fill this out:
