END Anthology Out TODAY {All Profits Benefit St. Jude}

There is a lot of stuff I should be saying, but I am still sick so lets skip on to the important info shall we? END is out today! It's a collection of short stories by really talented authors, and me. We get no money from this, it's all going to St. Jude where children are never turned away for their inability to pay. SO I don't feel bad at all begging you to buy it, give it as a gift for Christmas AND asking tell everyone you know.

It's available on Amazon, BN.com, and Smashwords!
I miss blogging! I expect to be well and caught up but not before Christmas. I will see you collected and in control by the new year though!

Angela Kulig is LOST in some sort of time paradox {Not the plot of a bad Mary-Sue Novel}

I sit here typing, and I have no idea what day it is. I think it might be Friday, I hold my breath and hope for the best but GASP it's only Tuesday. This keeps happening to me, last week I thought it was Wednesday when it was Friday. Friday should never feel like it's any other day but Friday! That is ludicrous!

And I have things to do.... many MANY things to do. Most of them could be accomplished in just one night of the husband watching the kids--but it's been weeks and my to do list only grows. Stuff that should take me hours fills days and days and they don't get done. Nothing gets done, everything I start is left uncompleted.

I am not sure if I ever announced it on the blog but I'm pregnant. It's a happy thing, but it's making me so tired I can't even see right after about 5pm, and I wouldn't last that long if I didn't have a nap or sleep in. I have 4 kids, but it hasn't ever been like this.

Honestly I don't want to do anything, but fall asleep until I don't feel like this anymore. I don't want to read, write, or launch books. I don't want to blog, or tweet, or learn anything. Then I hate myself for that, because that isn't who I am. I am the queen of mulitaskers. I am the patron saint of post its! I am just too tired. So be patient with me. If you need something from me soon, just poke me nicely. Luckily the first trimester is 2/3 over.

Saints & Sinners: Angela Kulig dishes on The Paranormals Series by J.L.Bryan

I have the honor of talking about some of the best Saints & Sinners in all the paranormal genre today! Seth & Alexander from The Paranormals Series by J.L.Bryan.

Oh, sorry. I keep drooling all over the keyboard.

The first time we met Seth Barrett in Jenny Pox I ignored him. The second time we met Seth Barrett I ignored him. The third time we met him I was convinced he was a brainless asshole. If only I had known! I could have lusted over him properly.

This is Seth, or at least the way BB and many drooling readers see him:

He is sort of an all American Boy. Football player, blond, ridiculously good looking--but he also has a secret, and no matter how many people he could help with his amazing power, he can’t tell anyone. Especially, Jenny Mittens.

Their life together begins one day on the side of the road, with Seth goes a little too far, and reveals a little too much. After that they begin to discover they are linked in ways they couldn’t even imagine.

But Seth, who might have out of this world good looks, is very real. In the Paranormal Series he makes quite a few mistakes, and one of them sends Jenny into the arms of this guy:

Alexander Death. The first thing you need to know about Alexander is, he speaks in really sexy Latin languages. The second thing you need to know about Alexander is, he is unapologetically a sinner. Despite what the Bookish Brunette would have you believe, nothing good can come from raising the dead. All that aside though, I enjoy lusting after this bad boy and I know you will too!

Dying to read about Seth and Alexander death? Pick up Jenny Pox, the first book in The Paranormals Series for FREE on Kindle and enter to win the paperback here!

J.L. Bryan is a guy paranormal romance writer (It is a paranormal romance Jeff!) so that automatically makes him hot! Also he puts up with some of the craziest bitches on the internets--namely myself and Ashley, The Bookish Brunette. He has published a lot of books you need to read. Right now.

The Giveaway Winner is SUPAGIRL congrats, be looking from an email from me!

Read THIS Before You Do Anything Else

Just some super quick notes!
1) Sara, who owns and mostly operates the publisher I am on, Red Iris Books, is away. So I can do whatever I want. Including being lazy and giving away a ton of ebooks. Not really... about the lazy part anyway. This weekend I have a serious personal writing deadline, so I will be giving away several kindle/nook copies of SKELETON LAKE at will. Please invite all of your friends that haven't read it. All the giveaways will happen on Twitter but I will be blogging times so check it out!

2) Don't forget about the AMAZING contest where you can win 3 hardback copies of some of the best November releases here:
Sweet November Release Prize Pack including: Shatter Me, The Pledge, & Crossed.

3) Did you know in the ebook version of SKELETON LAKE there is a Pigments of My Imagination excerpt? You should read it, because next week I will be asking questions about it, and giving away awesome Pigments prizes!

My Book Launch is CURSED

Oh Well, 3rd Times a Charm GIVEAWAY! I also wanted something big to celebrate hitting 3k on Twitter!

In an effort to quickly reschedule the launch of Breathe and Pigments of My Imagination I made a really huge mistake. The plan was to release it on the 21st and have a Rockin' Twitter Launch Party that Friday...which if I had bothered to look at a calender I would have realized was BLACK FRIDAY.

I had a lot of success with my first Twitter Launch of Skeleton Lake, and I know attempting one on BLACK FRIDAY where people are shopping, traveling, and asleep after waking up a 3am to score some serious deals isn't the best course of action.

After sobbing to my Publisher, Red Iris Books, I was assured it wouldn't KILL me to reschedule it a last time. After talking about it to death, we came up with the date 12/2/11

The world better not end before then!

Anyway on to the giveaway. People actually threatened me when I rescheduled the last time! Since you won't be reading Pigments in November, I figured I'd give away some SWEET November releases to appease the masses.

Here we go! All these books will be coming to you off of Amazon directly, because if you know me, you know that I only hate the post office has much as it hates me! So no wait once the winner sends me their info ;)

Contest ends 11/30!

The dashboard melted, but we still have the radio. Or in this case, the book launch.

Motivational songs for writers come in many forms and even more odd genres. Usually for general motivation purposes in writing; I prefer songs like Eye of the Tiger, and Vampire Money. No matter what your beliefs are about the overuse of the undead, most of us would admit to being OK with the money and fame Stephenie Meyer has achieved.

Everyone else would be lying.

With all the book launch drama, you would think I'd remember I was gearing up for one! Instead I have become almost fixated with other events to keep me from feeling bad about it. But no more! This week I am getting my priorities in order.

The dash board may have melted, but I still have the radio! Which given my love of motivation music, I'd say it's the best possible scenario. And it could have been, should have been worse than you would ever know, but it wasn't. So I should be thankful, and get my butt in gear!
Yay for Modest Mouse, who made my Monday that much more motivational!

Angela Kulig and Mel McCullough Split From the Dark Carma Tour

I've been sitting on this for a few days now, just because I didn't know what to say about it. Mel and I splintered away from the Dark Carma tour. No one yelled, screamed, or kicked us out. We left on our own, and it was the best thing to happen for everyone. It doesn't mean we don't love them, or won't support them--because we will! It just means Mel and I had to do what was best for us. It's always hard when you are dealing with people you care about, but at the end of the day if you have vastly different ideas on how your books should be released, you have to do what you think is right for your work.

Mel and I will be pushing back the release date of our books to 11/21 to further seperate ourselves. It's not as cool looking as 11-11-11; which was even the date that I pushed for, but it's quite symbolic, as I released SKELETON LAKE on 10-21. Our co-launch, and future launches are going to be organized under the name
All the info on that is coming ASAP!

Angela Doesn’t Need A Fancy Book Tour, She needs YOU

Just some quick notes about Dark C.A.R.M.A.
& Pigments of My Imagination

Dark C.A.R.M.A. Tour

PigmentsOfMyImagination-CoverC1

Next week I will switch to full launch mode of Skeleton Lake.
That means DARK C.A.R.M.A. will be harder to squeeze in, and there are something's that need to be accomplished for it soon.

As of this moment, I have no blog tour dates scheduled for Pigments of My Imagination, zip, zilch, nada.

I do however, have a really awesome  tour planned for Skeleton Lake. I don’t think when I signed up for this craziness that I understood how impossible it would be to book two tours on top of each other. So, what I was thinking was before I beg, plead, and bribe, I would hit up my friends with blogs if they would please post about Pigments of My Imagination from 11/11-11/22

The REM Street Team will be having all kinds of contests involving Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, etc but if you could commit to a blog about the book on any of these dates that would be great—and you know I like to reward my friends.

Wondering what you can post about? Well, you can write about whatever you want, or snag any of my posts about it from 11/11 onward—or if you want me to do a guest post I can do that too. I’m up for pretty much anything AHEM book related that is.

Love Me LOVE Me say that you love me in the comments—or you know, just tell me you can devote your blog for a day.

ONE
My mouth was no longer the worst of it. Dryness tore further at my cracked lips with every haggard puff puff, with every jagged breath I forced out of it. But now, that feeling seemed to travel from the ends of my dark tangled hair, to the tips of my snow covered bare feet. I ran without direction, without a goal. I liked the feeling of the escape. I like pretending I could.
Deep foot prints and tiny droplets of red ruined the winter landscape behind me as I darted past the tree line. Terrible blotches that looked black in the moonless night were all that was left of the tops of my hands. I had unconsciously torn away at the flesh with my own finger nails. I imagined what those bones would look like, peeking through the bloody mass of my clenched fists. I didn't dare look.
My heart continued to beat, even though I knew it had already given up. Broken, but not silenced, it seemed determined to win a race against the pounding of my steps. Sometimes one rhythm would play a head, but the other would be right behind. There would never be a winner, neither of them would cease before the other and my weary legs refused to give out until I was wherever they needed me to go.
That was when I saw it, practically glowing with the reflection of a million different universes. It was a large still mass, yet everything seemed to move around it. Tendrils of steam rose from all the edges and danced across the top of the lake. I couldn't remember hearing of anything like it.
I found myself wondering what it would be like to drown. Did it hurt? How would it feel floating there, weightless, until my very life drained away?
Sprinting down a decaying wooden dock, I did not look back. Boards creaked below my weight, pieces splintered off landing in the water with a plink that sounded like hailstones that sent ripples shooting out with me.
I remember the sounds. I remember the smell of the age old gray timber being torn from rusted nails, but I still can't remember the splash.
Drowning was nothing like I thought it would be. To start, it was slow. Time seemed to stretch out forever, as did the lake, but it didn't hurt. Not really. The water was warm and pleasant given what I had just run through. My wounds felt soothed by the murky waters. Even as the liquid swirled into my ears I could imagine I was at home in a bath and not floating toward my oblivion.
I never closed my eyes. My vision blurred then somehow focused two places at once. Part of me was staring at the late eighties wallpaper in the bathroom my father refused to change. The other part of me was completely aware of the lake I was in, and the sky above me.
From here, the stars were nearly impossible to see. Blackness stretched out over my head like an old sheet, letting in just a little light through its worn places as I coasted near slumber beneath it.
There was still more darkness below, where I knew the muddy bottom waited to welcome me permanently into its grasp.
Even though I floated, I felt weighted down with so many things—Mom and Dad alone in the old farmhouse unaware that anything was wrong, all the friends I had until tonight, and a handful of other people’s secrets.
Then there was light. Not a warm white light like everyone talks about, but a ghostly blue one. I wondered what its presence meant for my afterlife, if there was such a thing. That was my last thought before the panic set in.
Everything until that point had seemed so numb. Like my own inner auto pilot had plotted this end. Had I ever stopped to think? No, because until now there had seemed no need for it. There had only been the need to escape. The consequences now were much worse than the grounding that I would have received when daddy found out I snuck out. Where was my good judgment when I set out on foot tonight? When I'd tossed my heels into the ditch, as if the blisters they caused were my worst blemish? I thought nothing more than they slowed me down.
The blue light was right on top of me. I could tell it was close enough to reach out and grab me, but I was still surprised when it did. It seared my skin with ice cold fingers like instant frostbite on sunburned flesh, a cold and brittle feeling that belonged to a moving skeleton. Was this Death? Did such a specter really exist?
I let out the last of the air from my lungs as the black bled in from the edges of my vision before eventually filling everything, being everything, and then in the darkness, my stomach took a big flop. My whole body felt stuck in a Marlow shaped elevator shaft, and I had come to a sudden halt before being jolted upwards.
Then there was nothing.
I was unaware if I would ever leave the lake, unaware if it mattered at all.

This is the STREET TEAM & THIS is the PANIC BUTTON

You can always tell when I come this close to losing it. For the amount of stuff I cram into a day I rarely bite off more than I can chew. Well I hit that invisible wall this weekend and I think I have just been laying there sprawled out on the ground beneath it, feeling sorry for myself. I haven’t blogged in a week, I avoided Twitter for a days. If you are guessing that just made me feel worse you’re right. It just couldn’t be helped.

I missed a street team post though and that was KILLER it’s still not ready. But I wanted to share some details, so maybe the hate mail will stop.

What is the Street Team? (This is that revolution I’ve been talking about—it’s a lit revolution)
It is people I love and love (or at least respect me) back, spreading the word about my books, my contests, my blog, and best of all my friends! All this in exchange for free stuff and me being your best friend Winking smile

How do I be a part of the madness?
There will be several ways which you can be involved. Here are some examples:

-Putting The Street Team button on your blog/facebook/google plus etc.
-Stalking me all over the internets
-Doing book reviews/ posts about the afore mentioned subjects on your blog, goodreads, facebook, amazon, bn.com, ANYWHERE YOU CAN PUT IT WITH OUT GETTING IN TROUBLE
-Tweeting about the afore mentioned subjects
-Being creative in your endeavors
-Adding my books to your goodreads TBR list (and reading them)
-Getting other people to join the street team!
-Being a Street Team TEAMSTER, that’s code for Street Team leader

So what do I get?
What gratitude isn’t enough for you people? No? Well then you are lucky I have planned all sorts of things. Including:

-ARCS
-Free books by me, other people on Red Iris books, and some of my best friends.
-Swag which is book specific. So far there are things like book marks, t-shirts, posters, jewelry, and so much more.
-Exclusive content, and interviews for you personal blog
-Giftcards for Amazon and Barnes & Noble
-E-readers
-Exclusive street team sales and eventually presales.

What is this beasts name?
Funny you should say that; the Street Teams official name is REM or The RedEyed Monster Street Team.

When does it start?
The official launch day has been moved to October 17th, the Monday before Skeleton Lake is released, but we are going to have our first Street Team contest starting today!

Tell Angela Write Now What Book to Write for NANOWRIMO

Even though I have partaken in the 3 Day Novel contest and lived through it twice, something about NANOWRIMO gets to me. I allow myself very little time to write whatever I have just thought up. I have a schedule that tells me which novels I will write, and I am already into 2013. Which sounds horrid, but for me it’s necessary. To be able to give in to recent fancies I allow myself 2 off books. The one I write for the 3 day Novel contest, and the one I write for NANOWRIMO. Last year I survived the later, only to crash and burn in November, because I attempted to switch books halfway in. So I ended up with half of two books.

To avoid that I am trying to commit myself fully to one idea now. So I can stop thinking about it. Only probably is I don’t know which idea; someone please just tell me. I narrowed it down to 3.

The Elevator Underground: MG/ Adventure/ Urban Fantasy. All over the world, there are elevators hidden in the open, elevators that look like they lead to no where. Garan discovers one such elevator on the way home from school, and learns the truly great of our society have abandoned us.

Everlasting: YA Grim Fairytale. The sequel to Scorned. (Without too many spoilers) at the end of Scorned, Wills escapes into the gypsy forest. He’s lost his love, two castles, and his will to live. Now someone is looking for him, and they are willing to brave anything to get him back, but what are their real motives?

Cave Blind: YA post apocalyptic (romance). Years after humanity fled the surface, Isis still has trouble with the dark, she longs to see the sun, but that was before she realized she was blind; and that others survived outside the caves that she was born in.

Vote, then if you have a sec, I’d love if you would comment why you voted the way you did.

Thanks for voting! THE ELEVATOR UNDERGROUND won!
