Friday the 13 Great Reads

I'm recovering from a massive editing bender, and it's Friday the 13th. It's the perfect day to stay inside, hold your black cat close, and read a book or seven! I've rounded up some great reads to bring you good luck today and any other day of the week. Books = happiness. Plus, there's even a fantastic giveaway at the bottom of this post. It's got spooky written all over it.

First great (looking) read: Shadows That Speak and even the name tells you this is going to be a fantastic Friday the 13th read. I haven't read it yet, but I picked it up after seeing in on Bookbub recently and it looks fantastic. If you get to it before me make sure you tag me about it on social media!

After wishing for death alone in a dark alley, the main character Daniel is answered by a shadowy and mysterious voice that changes his life forever—but is this voice that of a real creature—or is this just his troubled mind discovering the only way to cope in 19th Century London?

Is it cold where you are? It's been almost miserably hot where I am for this time of year (it reached 85 this week) and I am dreaming of cold snap. That might explain the next great read!

Winter of the Shadow Fae is the perfect read for a chilly Friday the 13th—or even a mild one if you're still dreaming of a white Christmas like me!

Twenty-five years have passed since the darkness was defeated in the Land of the Fae. Since then, the realm has flourished under four courts: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.

However, nothing is as it seems. An evil lurks close by, known as… the Shadow Fae.

I changed my mind a dozen times about which book of mine I'd put on my Friday the 13th List—and I have to say, it was so hard because spiderwebs, black cats, and broken mirrors are almost my author love language! Ultimately, I decided on Skeleton Lake.

Vampires aren't real, but everyone has a Skeleton—this is my YA Urban Fantasy series about an entirely different kind of paranormal creature.

The next great read is a selection of books by my author Friend—I thought these looked so fun this time of year! Especially, Bleeding Gold, which you can get on Amazon or select other retailers. Also available are Life Remains at Amazon, or everywhere else, and Spaces of Silence at Amazon or elsewhere.
