Do You Like Book Playlists? (Take the poll for your chance to win!)

If you have followed me for any amount of time, you probably already know this but.... I don't do well in silence. Music for me is mandatory while writing. The sound of nothing, is the worst sound there is. The sound of nothing makes every little tick and every little breath grow to the size of the moon, and my head is a terrible place to be in the space of it.

Needless to say, I spend a fair amount of time stringing songs together in the name of my books. The question is, do you want to see  my book playlists? Is that something you care about it, or glance at before navigating away?

Sure it wouldn't take long for me to throw up a list, but it does take a fair amount of time for me to find all of them on youtube and group them in such a way here, as to be enjoyable.

Take my super quick poll, and tell me what you're into. BONUS, you could win a $25 iTunes gift card!

Those Are Betting Odds! (2 for the Price of One, Double or Nothing & Other Lame Twin Jokes)

OK... so here's the deal. There is a lot I don't talk about here. My cool girl, stiletto wearing,  wanna be rock star author awesomeness probably leads people to draw some conclusions about me--like that I am a total badass (true), as well as modest and retiring, (also true), but they might not see the you know, normal stuff.

And maybe I do that on purpose. But sometimes, that means big events can sometimes seem like they come out of the wild blue yonder...and well this is going to be one of those times.

So...

I planned on originally having a baby rather stealthy next month. I had planned all this stuff for while I was gone, and it was going to be fun and awesome for both of us; except for my fun was going to involve a lot of pain and not sleeping. I'm into that. Your fun was going to be... like... actual fun.

Anyway, the reason I didn't plan on saying anything is because prior to the expected new baby I already had five young kids. I am not old enough to have spaced them out very far--mmkay? The thing is, some people have to make very wild assumptions about people with large families. The women of these families in particular; and while not knocking anyones choices I will never fit that mold with my studded leather pants, and neon green kitten heels. Five didn't seem like such a big number to me, and I am not sure why six did, but it did. So here was actually having a large family where as I felt people just said that before. *Wink* Not that I care what people off the street think, just telling you the thought process.

January 26th was the expected arrival date, so I was a little shocked when I actually went into labor December 28th--and even more shocked to have not one baby, but two babies December 29th. Yes, apparently this does happen in the modern world. Even to women who have had twins before--because I have had twins before and this was way different. To start with it was way too easy. This was my second set of boy/girl twins. The L&D nurse said I needed to go buy a lottery ticket.

And yes, we're all fine. Just a little shocked, and off schedule.

This book is one of the strangest paranormal books I have ever read. Yes, I did just say that. Yes, you need to buy it.

At summer's end, mysterious white pickup trucks take to the roads and compel nearly everyone to "drive off." Some of those who remain gather in a suburban Atlanta subdivision, and struggle to cope with a world whose infrastructure is rapidly crumbling. One of the few who are mentally and emotionally prepared for the end of the world is Cody Sifko, a youth who quickly becomes the inspiration for the others. When a strange homeless woman names him "Father of Nations," is she seeing his future or her own delusions? As winter and a hate group try to destroy Laurel Hills, can Cody overcome personal tragedy and seize his destiny?

Read the blurb and tell me it's not perfect for Halloween!

Cadi Shaw doesn’t take much from humans - an ampoule of urine, a few snips of hair, maybe a toenail or two. Nothing essential. Nothing life-threatening. A magical sigil half-blood, Cadi collects the ingredients for her brother Torvi’s healing spells while he sells remedies for arthritis and minor ailments in their store.

But not all sigils are harmless. Running afoul of three badly wounded Nychos, Cadi is forced to procure for them in exchange for her brother’s life. But they want a lot more than human hair to work the spells keeping them alive. They want her to kill . . . and Cadi has no choice.

Insomnia, the flavor of the week. Is it raining, is it snowing? Is a hurricane a blowing?

Tomorrow starts the most wonderful time of year, 2015 Halloween Reads Season! But I couldn't help but stopping in today, and talking about how seriously screwed up in the head I am. I mean, seriously, there is no other explanation.

I have really wicked insomnia. I am pretty sure it settled into my bones early, at the ripe old age of nine or ten. Sometimes I just can't sleep. I'll be tired. I might even stagger like I'm drunk, if dare put down the book I'm reading and climb out of bed. Sometimes I'm not tired at all, and I find myself at the end five AM before winding down with no place to go.

But worst, worst of all, is when I wake up,

And wake up,

And wake up.

Last night was no exception. Last night was the worst yet. Sometimes I wake up every hour, or two. Last night I woke up in roughly 47 minute increments--and while that, in itself, wasn't so strange, w hat I was doing when I woke up was.

I was singing, but not just any song. I was waking myself up singing this:

There's no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There's no knowing where we're rowing
Or which way the river's flowing

Is it raining, is it snowing
Is a hurricane a-blowing

Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of Hell a-glowing
Is the grisly reaper mowing

Yes, the danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing
And they're certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing

It was so strange. If you had asked me that day I'd have told you I couldn't recall more than a handful of these words, but there I was, singing them. Clearly, I am not well.
