Forced out of college Freshman year and into a dead end job, Kaylee doesn't become angry and bitter; instead she does her best to not even exist.

Here's a quick list of what Kaylee Hall expects from life:

1. Nothing
2. Nothing else

She doesn't date.
She doesn't make friends.
She doesn't feel anything.

So when the guy who ruined Kaylee's life in every way shows up and tries to casually rewrite her life story, she consults her list and doesn't know what to think.

Insomnia, My Old Friend

I have been an insomniac since-well, almost ever.

This is only a slight exaggeration as one of my earlier memories is where I am laying in bed, unable to sleep. My mother's solution for this was to put me to bed while it was still daylight outside. This made it worse, much, much worse.

Extra italics worse.

Instead of me getting more sleep, I just got good at hiding the fact that I am an insomniac; and I got used to functioning without sleep. It's kind of a superpower that is slowly killing you. In college I went to school fulltime, had a fulltime job, and had a parttime job.

Which really explains why I quit and went back to writing. Ah, writing. The truth is, I think writing might be a symptom of my insomnia. I can't exactly test my theory, because, I haven't found a way to sleep like a normal person.

Also, I have learned to never, ever, tell a doctor you can't sleep. Because they don't tell you to change your diet, or cut caffeine, they get out there little white pad and scribble some almost illegible magic words and presto chango, medicine that can probably kill you.

The first night I took Ambien, I thought I died; then I thought maybe that is how normal people sleep. Like they are dieing of old age every night on their down-alternative pillows, and I just don't get it.

The second night I took Ambien I woke up the shower, with all my clothes on.

There, as you can imagine, was no third time.

I am used to my insomnia. It's familiar. It's 1:30, and 2:45, it's one more chapter, and two more pages. It's bone deep, and it's now 6:20AM. I should maybe go to bed.

Do You Like Book Playlists? (Take the poll for your chance to win!)

If you have followed me for any amount of time, you probably already know this but.... I don't do well in silence. Music for me is mandatory while writing. The sound of nothing, is the worst sound there is. The sound of nothing makes every little tick and every little breath grow to the size of the moon, and my head is a terrible place to be in the space of it.

Needless to say, I spend a fair amount of time stringing songs together in the name of my books. The question is, do you want to see  my book playlists? Is that something you care about it, or glance at before navigating away?

Sure it wouldn't take long for me to throw up a list, but it does take a fair amount of time for me to find all of them on youtube and group them in such a way here, as to be enjoyable.

Take my super quick poll, and tell me what you're into. BONUS, you could win a $25 iTunes gift card!

Those Are Betting Odds! (2 for the Price of One, Double or Nothing & Other Lame Twin Jokes)

OK... so here's the deal. There is a lot I don't talk about here. My cool girl, stiletto wearing,  wanna be rock star author awesomeness probably leads people to draw some conclusions about me--like that I am a total badass (true), as well as modest and retiring, (also true), but they might not see the you know, normal stuff.

And maybe I do that on purpose. But sometimes, that means big events can sometimes seem like they come out of the wild blue yonder...and well this is going to be one of those times.

So...

I planned on originally having a baby rather stealthy next month. I had planned all this stuff for while I was gone, and it was going to be fun and awesome for both of us; except for my fun was going to involve a lot of pain and not sleeping. I'm into that. Your fun was going to be... like... actual fun.

Anyway, the reason I didn't plan on saying anything is because prior to the expected new baby I already had five young kids. I am not old enough to have spaced them out very far--mmkay? The thing is, some people have to make very wild assumptions about people with large families. The women of these families in particular; and while not knocking anyones choices I will never fit that mold with my studded leather pants, and neon green kitten heels. Five didn't seem like such a big number to me, and I am not sure why six did, but it did. So here was actually having a large family where as I felt people just said that before. *Wink* Not that I care what people off the street think, just telling you the thought process.

January 26th was the expected arrival date, so I was a little shocked when I actually went into labor December 28th--and even more shocked to have not one baby, but two babies December 29th. Yes, apparently this does happen in the modern world. Even to women who have had twins before--because I have had twins before and this was way different. To start with it was way too easy. This was my second set of boy/girl twins. The L&D nurse said I needed to go buy a lottery ticket.

And yes, we're all fine. Just a little shocked, and off schedule.
